PPI & PTMP

The Personality Pattern Inventory

The Personality Pattern Inventory (PPI) is a statistically validated assessment that identifies an individual's personality structure in accordance with Dr. Kahler's model and includes reports on confidence levels, validity and potential distress levels. To date, over 700,000 people worldwide have taken the PPI in one of its forms.

There are two versions of the PPI. The standard form consists of 44 questions, each of which has six possible answers. The participant can rank his or her order of preference of up to five of the six answers. There also is a "student" PPI that consists of 21 questions and that has been normalized for children 11 years and older.

The standard output from the PPI are the various profiles and seminars that are used with the Process Communication Model® and the Process Therapy Model™. A list of these materials can be found on the Profiles & Seminars page.

Process Therapy Model Profile

The Process Therapy Model Profile (PTMP) is the primary clinical output from the PPI. It identifies all of the key elements of the client's personality and other characteristics using the Process Therapy Model, including:

To further assist the therapist, suggested directions in the therapeutic process are given. These include how to make initial contact, and which theories/techniques might prove beneficial.

Note that the PPI is not designed to pick up hamartic issues, nor to detect neuroses, personality disorders, or psychoses. Although personality patterns and layering phases are determined, these are not meant to be used for categorization, nor clinical diagnosis. Any diagnosing and identifying of specific issues and presenting content problems should be undertaken by the therapist for best results.

Therapists who wish to use the PTMP in their practice should contact Taibi Kahler Associates at (501) 375-6815 or at kahlercom@aristotle.net. Therapists will be asked to provide proof of licensure and to sign a short agreement regarding the use of the PPI and the PTMP. Upon receipt of these materials, the therapist will be provided with access codes and instructions for administering the PPI online. The therapist will be able to access the PTMP reports online and print them at his or her office. Pricing information will be made available on request.
